Courteous Canines goals are to teach people how to communicate, understand, and work as a team with their dog. It seems the biggest problem for most people is knowing why their dog does what it does, and how to mold its natural behavior into that of a courteous canine who is pleasant to live with.
The better behaved dogs are, the more privileges they get, the more time we spend with them, and the closer the family pack becomes.
Dogs learn much better when they are taught what correct behavior is. They should not think their name has the word "no" or "bad dog" in it. You will be taught positive methods to reinforce good behavior in your dog which will soon lead to training success.
Courteous Canines offers a variety of services. A customized training program can also be developed to meet any specific needs.
Head Start Puppy Program:
Get started even before you get your puppy. We will meet and discuss all you will need before bringing your new pup home. How to set him up for success from the start. After a couple days of adjustment, we meet with the little fellow and start the beginning stages of training right away before any bad habits develop.
In home private lessons:
We meet in the home to work with the dog in his own environment. This is very helpful if there are problems to solve such as counter surfing, barking at the front door, or jumping on visitors.
Lessons on location:
Lessons can be given at a location that may present problems for your dog due to distractions such as other dogs at the park, kids on skateboards, or any environment with too much stimulation.
Trainer to train program:
For those who may have difficulty working with their dog themselves, the dog can be trained by the trainer. As the dog becomes familiar with commands, the owner will be taught how to get results. Although the trainer will do the initial work, owners are REQUIRED to participate in the training program.
Group lessons:
Invite friends and their dogs to train with you. It is always fun to do the homework with your buddies.
Consultations:
Consultations are available to deal with single behavior issues or problem solving needs. A program will be developed for each dog's specific needs.

Lean to prepare your dog for the 10 items given by A.K.C. so your dog can pass the test and become recognized as a good dog citizen.
Crusin'Canines:
Most dogs get far too little aerobic exercise. Many behavior problems are due to under active, bored dogs who have no stress relief. We design custom exercise programs to fit your dogs needs and ability. We will jog, bike and do high energy types of play with your dog. This is great for overweight dogs too.
